Candidates for District 2 and 4 are in the race to win the election for the Long Beach City College Board of Trustees on April 12. 

Douglas Otto is the incumbent for Trustee Area 4. Archuleta is an appointed incumbent because she replaced Roberto Uranga who is now on the Long Beach City Council so this will be her first election. Vivian Malauulu teaches journalism at the college and is running against Archuleta for Area 2. LBUSD teacher, Davina Keiser is running against Otto.

Archuleta said she is busy going out to meet constituents and talking to them about what she does, “The local elections usually don’t get a good turnout so it’s important to talk to constituents.”

Election Day is Tuesday, April 12, and the polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. The four -year term beings July 18 and LBCC has no term limits.

January 16-25 is the public examination period where “candidate statements, candidate names and ballot designations shall be open for public examination.”
