The counseling office has different service hours that gives students limited time to get help.

When students want to make an appointment with any counselor, the best time is “on Monday morning at 8 a.m. because it is the beginning of the week and they will be able to meet with a counselor the following week,” said Ann Marie Nunag, a counselor in Counseling and Student Support Services.

Different counseling classes students can take to succeed in college includes Counseling 1, Counseling 48 and 50. Each class helps with students planning their classes or time and also teaches students better study habits.

A new service now done in the counseling department for all LBCC students is online counseling, where students can chat with a counselor from their computer. The LBCC website explains how students can make an appointment and also the service hours they offer for online counseling.

Pierre Brooks, an 18-year-old biology major at LBCC, said, “Yes I think that is a wonderful idea because it makes appointments much more convenient.”
