Cal State Long Beach and LBCC are uniting their music programs to form the Southern California Intercollegiate Honor Band for a 2015 Spring Tour to San Francisco from April 9-12. The tentative tour highlights include clinics at UCLA or CSU Northridge, a San Luis Obispo farmers market performance, an Alcatraz tour and attending a San Francisco Symphony Concert.  “We are doing this trip because there are not many opportunities for students to travel, especially in music,” LBCC music director Brian Hamilton said. The band will consist of a wind ensemble, a chamber orchestra and a selective vocal and instrumental jazz ensemble. All LBCC students are required to make a $100 deposit by March 1 and $250 total for the tour. If a student is participating in more than one ensemble, the cost remains $250. Rehearsals will begin in March at LBCC. Information is available by contacting for general questions and for the jazz ensemble.
