The Associated Student Body Cabinet is seeking candidates to apply for the vice president seat this Fall semester. Applications are due Friday, Feb. 21 at noon in E119 for the LAC or EE102 for the PCC.
Enthusiastic, self-motivating students with an understanding of how ASB works are highly encouraged to apply, said ASB co-adviser Maya Cardenas. “They will fill in for the president when necessary, so prior experience in a leadership role is ideal for this position,” Cardenas said.
According to the application, students must hold a GPA of at least 2.5 to apply for the position and have completed six units of classes the prior semester. Students are also required to pass an exam on the ASB Constitution and bylaws by 80 percent.
Students who occupy current presidency in any club or organization at LBCC cannot serve.
The application requires students to be available each Monday 2-4 p.m. for ASB meetings and Wednesday 2-4 p.m. for the recommended leadership development meetings.
All students who fall below the asking requirements must seek exemption from the dean of Student Affairs.
Interviews start Monday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. in LL102 on the PCC.
Students may pick up applications in E119 for the LAC or EE102 for the PCC. Applications may also be found online at lbcc.edu/StudentLife/ASB/Election/ASBappointed.cfm.
The Student Life Office can be reached by telephone at (562) 938-4154 for the LAC and (562) 938-3088 for the PCC. Offices are located in room E-102 for the LAC and room EE-157 for the PCC.
